This stain is oil-based and will have a deeper fuller coverage than our VooDoo Gel Stain
- You can use all of our stains on painted or unpainted surfaces.
- Both stains can be applied with a “lint free” cloth or you can use a paint brush or paint sponge.
- Start out with a small amount and then apply more depending on the shade you are looking for. Remember that less is more. We suggest testing it on a non-conspicuous spot first.
- Remember that Voodoo Gel Stain is water based and will dry faster than No Pain Gel Stain, which is oil based.
SURFACE PREP: The surface must be clean, dry, and free of any dust, wax, or grease before staining. New wood should be sanded smooth and free of blemishes. Old finishes should be removed and sanded smooth for best results. Hand sand with the grain using a sanding block. If planer or molder marks are visible, start with a coarse grit sandpaper (80 to 100) to smooth; otherwise, start with a medium grit (120 to 150) and finish with a finer grit (180 to 220).
APPLICATION: DO NOT THIN. Start with a clean, sanded surface. With a small cloth or foam brush, apply a generous coat of Dixie Belle No Pain Gel Stain to an area no larger than two square feet. With a clean, lint free cloth or soft lint free towel, wipe off excess stain in the direction of the grain until the color is uniform and free of smudges. Drying time is approximately 6 - 8 hours per coat depending upon temperature, humidity, air movement, and the amount of stain on the surface. For a darker, richer tone, apply a second or third coat. Allow a minimum of six hours between coats In humid climates. Drying times may vary.
